Law Enforcement


As soon as you realize that you are caught in an identity theft case, report to the local law authorities. If the theft occurred in another city you are required to contact the said cities law enforcement. The law enforcement agency will create an “identity theft report” and you can request a copy.


Federal Trade Commission (FTC)


Though the FTC does not investigate identity theft cases directly but can help in spreading the information you provide them regarding the theft, so that they can spread it internationally and find the thief much faster.
